Joe Richards is a designer, editor and educator.
Joe is editor-in-chief of avant-garde art publication M-A (A SPACE BETWEEN). Published annually, presenting emergent with established excellence from around the world, issue 4 of the magazine continues a curated visual conversation. Works by 31 contributing artists are curated in a stream-of-consciousness visual narrative exploring Signals. Previous contributors have included Larry Fink, Martin Margiela, Claudia Andujar, Gabriel Orozco and the estates of Yoko Ono, Anselm Kiefer, Cy Twombly and Julia Margaret Cameron, among others.
The publication is sold at 18 stores including The Serpentine, Jeu de Paume and JZZP. Issue 3 was first presented at David Zwirner in London, issue 4 at Dover Street Market in London.
Joe works as a design consultant for ready-to-wear, shoe design and store uniforms for global luxury brands. He designed his eponymous label between 2012 and 2018. Stocked at matchesfashion.com and featured in international press. In July 2025 was asked to create an installation and a limited edition book for Dover Street Market Jewellery department.
A former assistant to the artist Katerina Jebb and trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort, Joe Richards cut his design teeth in Paris and London at Céline.
Joe is an Associate Lecturer at The Royal College of Art in London.
